Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Topping:

  • ½ cup strawberry jam warmed
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Transfer to piping bag; chill slightly.
  • In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients. In another, whisk milk, butter, vanilla, and egg.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients; mix until sticky dough forms.
  • Heat oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or pot.
  • Drop dough by tablespoonfuls into oil; fry 2–3 mins per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  • Use a skewer to poke holes in each donut. Pipe in cream cheese filling.
  • Drizzle warm strawberry jam over tops or dip. Serve warm.

  • Use a thermometer to maintain oil at 350°F.
  • Try with other jams like raspberry or blueberry.
  • Chill filling slightly for easier piping.
  • Baked version: 375°F for 12–14 mins.
